BATTALION COMMANDER

C/LTC JENNA FERNANDEZ

 

The Battalion Commander performs as the primary liaison between the JROTC instructors and the JROTC cadets for all operations beyond the normal classroom instruction. She coordinates with the instructors and provides guidance to the JROTC staff and leadership for the planning and execution of all events. She commands the battalion by taking responsibility for everything the battalion accomplishes or fails to accomplish and making use of the subordinate chain of command to conduct all operations.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER

C/MAJ DEREK LUTZ

 

The Executive Officer takes command of the battalion in the Battalion Commander’s absence. He is the main superviser of the JROTC staff. He coordinates with the JROTC instructors and the Battalion Commander to prioritize staff actions. He coordinates with the S-3 to insure the JROTC instructors’ and Battalion Commander’s JROTC calendar of upcoming events is current at all times. The XO serves as the leader of event staffs to plan and conduct battalion training.

COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR

C/CSM TERESA NOVOA

 

The Command Sergeant Major is the principal advisor to the commander on the state of morale, discipline, and training of cadets within the battalion. She conducts battalion formations and is responsible for training and execution of drill and ceremonies at all levels. She advises the Battalion Commander on planning, coordinating and supervising activities of the battalion. The CSM accounts for personnel during all battalion level activities and events.
