ABOUT THE COUGAR BATTALION

The Weston Ranch High School Cougar Battalion is the largest battalion in the Manteca Unified School District.

Our program consists of and welcomes a wide variety of students due to the large amount of extracurricular activities that JROTC has to offer. We like to introduce our cadets to a diverse range of new experiences and concepts inside the classroom during lectures as well as outside with activities such as competitive events and different forms of community service. By utilizing structure and discipline to educate students, we are able to create better citizens who will soon be the leaders of the future.

"The task of the leader is to get his people from where they are to where they have not been."
- Henry A. Kissinger

ARMY VALUES

JROTC MISSION STATEMENT

LOYALTY
DUTY
RESPECT

The JROTC program follows this mission and takes it into consideration during every lesson and activity that takes place. Our instructors help students build good character on a daily basis and guide them on a path that will be beneficial to them in the near future. Altough many believe the mission of JROTC is to push more people into joining our country's military, that is far from what is actually attempting to be accomplished. What we want to do is send more people into the world with a clearer understanding of it and a much more mature mindset.

To motivate young people to be better citizens.
